About Widgets

A widget (also known as a gadget) is a mini-application that provides you with fast access to information. Gadgets can be added to personalized home pages such as iGoogle and Microsoft Live.com. They can also be added to your website or blog by downloading the HTML.

All-In-One Widget
The all in one gadget enables you to check flight status, view flight performance, sign up for notifications, and view current airport delays within the United States.

In this "All-in-One" widget you can access several of our most popular applications including:
  • Flight Status (by route, flight and airport)
  • Historic Flight Performance Ratings (by route, flight, time of day and carrier)
  • Flight Alerts enables you to receive email or text messages for departure, arrival, cancellation and diversions
  • Airport Delays displays current FAA delays for US airports

Flight Status Widget
Our most popular widget, this application gives you instant access to world-wide flight status. Search by flight, route or view all airport departures and arrivals by time of day. Results are displayed on the FlightStats website enabling you to launch our interactive flight tracker or to set-up flight alerts.

Flight Rating Widget
Look-up the historical flight performance of virtually any flight worldwide before you book! Knowing how often a flight is delayed, cancelled or diverted may just save you from experiencing another travel nightmare. Compare the historical performance of all flights on a route, carriers on a route, or all flights by time of day. Results are displayed on FlightStats.com.

Toolbar Buttons

If you are a user of Google Toolbar 4+ running on Internet Explorer or Windows Live Toolbar, you can add our Toolbar Button.



The button has a drop down list of current airport delays in the United States. In addition, it has full toolbar search capabilities. Type in an airline code and flight number in the toolbar search box, press the flight stats button and you will see the information for that flight. Similarly, you can type in an airport code, press the button, and see airport information.

Flight Status Commands
aa 1241 - takes you to flight status for AA 1241 departing today
pdx departures - shows you today's departures for PDX
pdx arrivals - show you today's arrivals for PDX
pdx to lax - takes you to flight status for flights departing PDX today headed for LAX
pdx - lax - takes you to flight status for flights departing PDX today headed for LAX

Flight Performance Rating Commands
aa 1241 rating - takes you to flight rating for AA 1241
ord to lax rating - takes you to flight ratings for ORD to LAX
sfo - lax rating - takes you to flight ratings for SFO to LAX

Airline Commands
aa - takes you to airline information for AA
aa scorecard - takes you to today's scorecard for AA

Airport Commands
pdx - takes you to airport information for PDX
pdx weather - takes you to the current weather conditions and forecast for PDX
pdx scorecard - takes you to today's scorecard for PDX
ord delays - takes you to today's delay information for ORD
jfk security - takes you to today's security information for JFK

Google Search

Get flight status information directly in your Google Search results by simply typing the carrier code and flight number of the flight you are interested in tracking. The first result in the list will display status with a link to FlightStats for detailed information and access to flight tracking and alerts.

For additional information including airport delays, flight status by route, on-time performance ratings, airline information airport information and airport delays (US only), use our Google Co-op Subscribed Link. Examples of the search terms supported by the Google Co-op Subscribed Link include:
  • JFK to LHR
  • AS 2236
  • American
  • American Airlines
  • LHR Airport
  • security wait times (US only)
  • airport delays (US only)

RSS Feeds

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and is used as a tool for keeping updated on your favorite websites or topics. In order to receive RSS feeds, you must have some kind of a reader, or RSS aggregator. Many of the search engine personalized home pages such as Google Home or Microsoft's Live.com include the ability to subscribe to RSS feeds. In addition, there are a number of dedicated RSS aggregators available, many of which are free.

FlightStats Airport Delay RSS Feed
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a format designed for sharing headlines and other Web content. RSS feeds contain headlines and hyperlinks to longer articles or Web pages. This RSS Feed includes a list of US airports reporting current FAA delays. The list includes a brief description of the delay and links to more information.

Suitable for: Viewing current FAA airport delays using an RSS reader

Third Party Tools

Flight Monitor Gadget
Marco Kroonwijk developed this unique gadget to track departure and arrival of a flight. Useful to bring or pick-up airline passengers. This gadget delivers real-time information about expected arrival and departure time including delays, arrival / departure terminal and gate and status of the flight. Links direct the user to more detailed information about the flight and airports.

FlightStats is very appreciative of Marco's work and was happy to provide a non-commercial license to his project. Great job Marco!
